Based on a government resolution dated April 17 and signed by Irakli Kobakhidze, citizens of 17 additional countries will be allowed to enter Georgia visa-free starting May 16. The decision includes citizens who hold multiple-entry visas and/or residence permits issued by the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, or the Sultanate of Oman. These individuals will be allowed to enter Georgia without a visa for a specified period and under defined conditions.

The newly included countries are:

• Islamic Republic of Afghanistan

• People’s Republic of Bangladesh

• Republic of Ghana

• Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia

• State of Eritrea

• Republic of Yemen

• Republic of Cameroon

• Republic of Côte d’Ivoire

• Democratic Republic of the Congo

• Kingdom of Morocco

• Federal Republic of Nigeria

• Islamic Republic of Pakistan

• Federal Republic of Somalia

• Syrian Arab Republic

• Republic of the Sudan

• United Republic of Tanzania

• Republic of Uganda

As stated in the resolution:
“Citizens of the listed countries who hold valid multiple-entry visas and/or residence permits from the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, or the Sultanate of Oman, may enter and stay in Georgia without a visa under the established rules, provided that the visa or residence permit is valid for at least one year from the date of crossing the Georgian border. This must be confirmed by a travel or other appropriate document.”

Previously, Georgian legislation allowed visa-free entry for citizens of 96 countries. The government of Georgia first approved the list on June 5, 2015, which initially included 94 countries and territories. The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan was added in 2017, and the People’s Republic of China was included in 2023.
