Dear member.
Last year's recipients of the prestigious Royal Geographic Society Land Rover Bursary, the Transcaucasian Expedition, have offered to speak to the British Georgian Society. Expedition leader Tom Allen will speak about their journey and its achievements, explore the origins and vision of the TCT, and offer a glimpse of the future of our ambitious project, as the Caucasus Mountains begin to open up for hikers, geographers, conservationists, and lovers of the great outdoors. We are lucky that other Expedition colleagues will be available to discuss different aspects of the trail with us. The Transcaucasian Trail is the first long-distance hiking route the length of the Caucasus Mountains. The trail is to be opened up to hikers, conservation volunteers and others. Visit the excellent website to get a flavour of the Trail and its’ ambition. This free lecture is a great opportunity to find out more about how to get involved in the future building of the trail.
